Shipping

Every Olive + Oath piece is made in small batches and shipped with care from our Melbourne warehouse.

Packing & dispatch

Orders placed before 12pm Melbourne time (AEST/AEDT) are packed the same day. Orders placed after 12pm are packed the next business day. All in-stock orders ship within 24 hours of being packed, and you'll receive a tracking email as soon as your parcel is with the courier.

Delivery times

We ship with Australia Post. These are Australia Post's average delivery times, counted in business days from dispatch.

Destination Standard tracked shipping
Australia 2–6 business days
International (incl. NZ, US, Canada, UK & EU) 5–10 business days

Estimates are between metro areas. Regional and rural addresses can take longer, and international times don't include time spent in customs. If we can't ship your order within the timeframe we've stated, we'll let you know and give you the option to cancel for a full refund.

Free shipping

Standard shipping is free on Australian orders over A$250, New Zealand orders over NZ$250, and international orders over A$350 (or the equivalent in your local currency). Orders under these amounts are charged shipping at checkout.

Pre-orders

Pre-order styles ship as soon as they arrive at our warehouse. If your order includes a pre-order piece, everything ships together once it arrives. For your in-stock pieces sooner, simply place a separate order.

Duties & Taxes

Our pieces ship from Australia, so international orders may be subject to import charges on arrival. Select your region for details.

United States

The US no longer allows duty-free entry for low-value parcels, so every US order is subject to import duties, whatever its value. Duties are based on where a garment was made, not where it ships from. Our pieces are made by our manufacturing partner in China, so duty rates for garments made in China apply.

Where duties are calculated at checkout, you'll see and pay them before placing your order, with nothing more to pay on delivery. If duties aren't shown at checkout, your courier will collect them before delivery. US tariff rules are changing often, so the amount can vary from order to order.

If you refuse a parcel because of import charges, it will be returned to us and treated as an international return, less the cost of returning it to us.

European Union & United Kingdom

Prices shown for the EU and UK don't include VAT, customs duties or courier clearance fees, and these aren't collected at checkout. We are not registered for VAT in the EU or UK.

What you'll pay on delivery

  • VAT at your country's standard rate (generally 17–27% in the EU, and 20% in the UK)
  • Any applicable customs duties, including flat-rate duties that now apply to lower-value parcels entering the EU
  • A handling or clearance fee charged by the courier

The courier will contact you to collect these before or at delivery. The exact amount depends on your country and order value, so we can't confirm it in advance. Your local customs authority's website is the best place for an estimate, or email us and we'll help where we can.

If you choose not to pay

A refused parcel is returned to us. We'll treat this as a cancellation under your right to cancel and refund you as set out in the EU & UK section, less the cost of returning the parcel to us. Import charges are collected by customs and your courier, not by us, so we can't refund them, but you may be able to reclaim them directly.

Other countries

Where duties or taxes are calculated at checkout, you'll see them before you pay. Otherwise, any import charges are collected by the courier on delivery and are your responsibility.

Duties and taxes are non-refundable.This includes duties paid on items you later return, except where an item is faulty.

Returns

Change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery. Australian and New Zealand customers can start a return or exchange through our returns portal. International customers, please email customercare@oliveandoath.co.nz.

Start a return

Customers in the EU or UK have additional rights. See the EU & UK section, which takes priority over the terms below.

Return conditions

Items must be unworn, unwashed and in their original condition with tags attached. Pieces showing marks, makeup, deodorant, scent or pet hair can't be accepted. Please pack your return securely so it arrives undamaged. Once your return is approved, ship it within 3 business days, or the return will be cancelled.

Full price items

Full-price pieces, including those bought with the WELCOME10 code, can be returned for a refund or exchanged. Full-price pieces bought with any other promotional code can be exchanged only.

Sale items

Pieces discounted 15–39% can be exchanged or returned for store credit, which never expires.

Final sale

Pieces discounted 40% or more, or marked Final Sale, can't be returned or exchanged unless faulty. Gift cards, custom and made-to-order pieces are also non-returnable. If you used a combined discount (for example 10% + 15%), the total discount decides which category applies.

Afterpay orders

Orders paid with Afterpay are returned for store credit, as Afterpay charges non-refundable fees on returned orders.

Exchanges

Australian and New Zealand orders can be exchanged once per order through the returns portal. If your size is unavailable or the style is no longer made, you can choose an eligible refund or store credit instead. We don't offer exchanges on international orders.

Return shipping & fees

Region Return label Restocking fee
Australia A$11.99, deducted from your refund. Drop at any Australia Post location. A$13 per item
New Zealand Paid by you. Purchase your own tracked return label. A$13 per item
US, Canada & rest of world Paid by you. Buy your own label, or a prepaid label from us, deducted from your refund. A$13 per item

Every returned piece is individually inspected, steamed and repackaged. The restocking fee lets us keep production small without raising prices for everyone.

Return labels are always paid by the customer.Import duties and taxes on international orders are never refunded. The only exception is faulty or incorrect items, where we cover all costs.

How your refund is calculated

Your refund is the garment value, less the restocking fee, the return label, and the original shipping cost if the whole order is returned or the return takes your order below the free-shipping threshold for your region (A$250 in Australia, NZ$250 in New Zealand, A$350 internationally).

Example: you return one A$180 dress from an A$260 Australian order. Your order now falls below A$250, so your refund is A$180, less the A$13 restocking fee, the return label and the original shipping cost.

Refunds and store credit are processed within 5–7 business days of us receiving and approving your return, and go to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for funds to appear. Gift recipients receive store credit.

Returns we can't accept

Returns sent outside our portal or after the 14-day window may be sent back to you. Items that arrive worn, washed or damaged won't qualify for a refund or credit, but we can ship them back at your cost. We monitor returns for misuse and may decline returns from customers with an unusually high return rate.

EU & UK Customers

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can cancel your order within 14 days of delivery for any reason. These terms take priority over our standard returns policy wherever the two differ.

  • Every item is covered, including sale and discounted pieces. Final Sale doesn't apply to your order.
  • No restocking fee.
  • Refunds go to your original payment method, including Afterpay, unless you ask for store credit.
  • Your original standard delivery cost is refunded if you return your whole order.
  • You pay the cost of returning items to us, and import VAT and duties paid to customs or your courier aren't refundable by us.

How to cancel

Use the Withdraw from contract here link to email us your cancellation, or send us the model withdrawal form below. Any clear statement that you want to cancel is enough, and we'll confirm receipt by email. Please send your items back within 14 days of telling us.

Your refund

We'll refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, though we may wait until your items arrive back or you've shown proof of sending them. You're welcome to try pieces on as you would in a store. If an item has been worn, washed or handled beyond that and its value is reduced, we may deduct the difference.

We don't currently offer exchanges on EU or UK orders. For a different size, cancel your order and place a new one.

Model withdrawal form

Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel your order. You can copy it into an email to us.
